In an age of decentralized social media, the goal of the Carceral History newsletter is to provide a platform for sharing book news and other fresh research in U.S. carceral history, particularly by professionally-trained historians and good folks in related fields.
If you are an author, journal editor, editor, or book publicist: I want to hear from you about how I can support your work! If you are a reader and you have recommendations, I want to hear from you!
Email me: melanie dot newport at Uconn dot edu
I can’t promise to share everything but I am hoping to use this platform to show that you can’t understand U.S. history without understanding carceral history.
